THE S- WORD: The State of ‘ Spirituality ’ In Contemporary Art

Curated by Prof. Ronald E. Steen, Art Historian, Art Educator & Curator of Exhibitions The Judson Gallery of Contemporary and Traditional Art, under the direction of
David Judson, Director

        A group exhibition of work produced and exhibited in Southern California by contemporary artists from 1979/80 to the present having themes of spirituality not specifically produced for a sacred environment nor for devotional purposes. The exhibition includes the work of ten artists Lynn Aldrich, Sandow Birk, Rob Clayton, Einer & Jamex de la Torre, Daniel Martin Diaz, John Frame, Laura Lasworth, Ruth Weisberg and Patty Wickman. Works are lent from artists, fine art galleries and art collections. This exhibition is a mini version of a larger exhibition held at The Judson Gallery of Contemporary and Traditional Art, Los Angeles, CA in the Fall of 2006. A full color illustrated catalogue in CD format accompanies this exhibition. 

PUBLIC OPENING RECEPTION: Sunday, APRIL 29, 2007, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The Cathedral Art Gallery is located inside the Cathedral in the North West corner.  

Exhibition Dates: Saturday, April 21 through Friday, August 24, 2007 Cathedral Art Gallery hours: Mon.- Fri. 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. & Sun. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
